Hamburg Airport (officially Hamburg Airport) is the oldest and fifth largest airport in Germany. Terminal 1 is the newer of the two terminal buildings. It was inaugurated in 2005. Architecturally significant features include a rainwater utilisation system, which supplies the sanitary facilities, and a so-called ThermoLabyrinth, which relieves the air conditioning system by using geothermal energy.
The task
Combining user-friendliness and the realisation of the required escape route standards in combination with the necessary durability of the systems due to the special requirements of an airport.
