In the heart of Dresden’s historic Neumarkt old town, between the famous Frauenkirche and the Brühl’s Terrace, lies the Hilton Dresden, formerly known as the ‘Dresdener Hof’.

The hotel was originally built between 1987 and 1989, and was completely renovated in several stages between 2009 and 2011. Current EN standards and changes had to be taken into account in the new design, particularly with regard to the emergency exits and fire barrier doors.

As part of this renovation project, the hotel was equipped with over 100 standard-compliant panic systems, as well as high-quality lever handle sets. This is how it ensures that people can leave a danger zone at any time, even in a panic situation. All they have to do is press the horizontal actuation element or a panic handle and the door will open – no matter whether the lock was locked or not. The lock and trigger element have been developed to ensure seamless interplay.
