Assembly and function

New installation technology for hold-open systems

ECO has also designed the assembly of the hold-open systems to be systematic and practical. The fitter receives pre-assembled assembly groups and can secure the system in place with only two screws per leaf. There is no need to calibrate the system, and the cabling relies on simple plug-and-play cable connector systems.

What’s more, since only a few components are required, the whole assembly takes no time at all. The ECO hold-open systems can be used as surface-mounted systems on all fire and smoke control doors made of steel, aluminium or wood.

ECO panic functions E / D / B / C

This video provides a overview of all 4 panic functions: E, D, B and C. Videos on the individual panic functions can be found below.

Panic function E

Panic function E is designed for buildings that can be accessed by a defined group of people. There is a blind plate or knob fitted on the outside, and the door can only be opened with a key. The inside offers a classic panic function via the lever handle.

Area of application: Doors to boiler rooms, lift systems, underground/multi-storey car parks, warehouses and office blocks, entrance doors in apartment blocks and multi-family homes.

Panic function D

Panic function D is designed for doors used exclusively as emergency exit doors. A classic panic operation from the inside not only opens the door, but also engages the outer lever handle. In this setting, the door is no longer an obstacle for entry to – or escape from – the building. The original function can be restored by a key. Engagement takes place mechanically through a two-part follower.

Area of application: Emergency exit doors in administration/office buildings, old people’s homes, secondary entrance doors (e.g. schools and hotels).

Panic function B

Panic function B with a lever handle on both sides is designed for buildings accessible to the general public. Whereas the lever handle on the inside has a classic panic function, the lever handle on the outside can be disengaged or engaged mechanically as required. Engagement of the two lever handles takes place through a two-part follower.

Area of application: Emergency exit doors in administration buildings, old people’s homes, secondary entrance doors (e.g. schools and hotels).

Panikfunktion C

Panic function C with a lever handle on both sides is designed for buildings accessible to the general public. Whereas the lever handle on the inside has a classic panic function, the lever handle on the outside is usually disengaged (idle function) and can only be disengaged and engaged through a key position (opening position) (forced closing). However, the key can only be removed when the idle function has been restored.

Area of application: Emergency exit doors in administration buildings, old people’s homes, secondary entrance doors (e.g. schools and hotels).
